Timecode-Shows
The classic among laser shows is the time code show – you can compare this special form of light show with a perfectly directed orchestra – every movement fits, every nuance of the music is translated visually and turned into an optical and acoustic gourmet meal. This multi-media experience develops an emotional impact at any scale by extensive and detailed pre-programming in our in-house studio.
Specifically chosen musical titles – partially newly composed or arranged – allow the spectator to dive into another world.

And not only that, but as soon as the first precisely programmed laser beams cut through the air and translate the acoustic impressions into a visually perceptible level, the element of light becomes a three dimensional experience and arouses emotions, that will not be forgotten easily. In combination with projections of slogans and logos or pictures these shows cannot only emotionalize the viewer but also communicate a message with a more intense impact. Another option are combinations with video projections, pyrotechnics and conventional lighting. Any concept can be implemented by our team and we are able to adjust our shows to (almost) any budget. Simply ask our colleagues and we will gladly consult you to achieve the best possible outcome!

Frequently Asked Questions about Timecode Laser Shows
What is a timecode laser show?
A timecode laser show is a fully pre-programmed production in which all laser effects are precisely synchronized to a timing track (the timecode). Every movement, color, and beam is assigned to a specific moment within a music track or video feed. This guarantees perfect audio-visual synchronization every time the show is played.
How does timecode synchronization work technically?
Synchronization is typically achieved using standardized protocols such as SMPTE (Linear Timecode) or MTC (MIDI Timecode). A master source—such as a media server or audio playback system—sends a continuous timing signal to the laser control software. The software reads the exact position on the timeline and triggers the programmed laser cues without delay.
What are the advantages of a timecode show compared to live operation?
The main advantage is precision. Complex choreographies, where laser effects must hit exact musical accents or match video content frame by frame, are almost impossible to execute live with the same level of accuracy. In addition, a timecode show is 100% repeatable, making it ideal for touring productions, TV recordings, or permanent installations in theme parks and museums.
How much programming effort is required for a timecode show?
Because every second of the show is individually designed, the preparation effort is significantly higher than for a live-operated show. Depending on the length and complexity of the production, programming in the studio can take several days or even weeks.
What types of events are timecode shows best suited for?
Timecode shows are ideal for productions with a fixed and clearly defined sequence. Typical use cases include:
- Product launches and brand presentations
- Opening ceremonies
- TV productions
- Permanent installations (e.g. museums or theme parks)
- Music videos and tour intros
What happens if the music stops during the show?
Since the laser control system is directly linked to the timecode signal of the audio source, the laser show automatically stops if the signal is interrupted. As soon as the timecode resumes or jumps to a different position, the system instantly recognizes the change and continues the show at the exact correct point.
Is an operator still required on site for a timecode show?
Although the show itself runs automatically, professional productions usually still require a technician or operator on site. This person monitors the hardware and safety systems as the certified laser safety officer and, if necessary, adapts the laser projections to the local conditions, such as alignment on specific surfaces.
Can timecode laser shows also be performed outdoors?
Yes. The timecode workflow is independent of the location. Especially at large outdoor events where lasers are combined with fireworks or large-scale projections, timecode is essential to keep multiple systems synchronized over long distances.
